Mr. Ahmed Haikal is the Head of Sharia Audit in Dubai Islamic Bank. He joined the Department in 2007 and gained vast experience in Sharia Audit as well as Sharia Training. Mr. Haikal participated in a big number of conferences and seminars on Islamic Finance and Banking. He was an official speaker in the First Islamic Banking Jurisprudence Forum which was organized by Sharjah Islamic Studies and Research Center.

During this time Mr. Haikal developed a model for Sharia Auditor Guide, a guiding model for Sharia Auditors enabling them to smoothly conclude Sharia Audit tasks. He also participated in the implementation and development of Zakat calculation method for Dubai Islamic Bank, through “Net Invested Funds” approach and “Net Asset” approach since 2009.

Before joining DIB, Mr. Haikal was working in the Customer Service and Retail Finance Division in Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank since 2004.

He also worked as a Credit Analyst in Egypt between 1997-2003.

Mr. Haikal gained a B.A. in Accounting in 1996 and an MBA in 1997. He also has Postgraduate Diploma and is a Certified Sharia Advisor and Auditor per the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) in 2010.
