Mr. Hani Abbas Helmi is currently serving as the Head of Sharia Review at the Sharia Department of Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), Dubai. Mr. Hani Helmi has over 14 years of vast experience working in the Sharia department of DIB and has worked closely with the Islamic finance industry’s leading Sharia scholars and benefitted directly from working in the realm of their esteemed guidance. He has worked on numerous innovative Sharia compliant products and structures such as Sukuk, Private Equity, Syndicated deals, Investment, Treasury as well as Structured Products. Mr. Hani has two Bachelor degrees one in Banking and Finance and the other in IT and nearly concluded his third Bachelor degree in Sharia and law at Imam Malik College (Dubai, UAE). Mr. Hani is also a Certified Sharia Advisor and Auditor per the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI).
